I’m always amazed that there are people in the world who can do incredible things. They seem to enjoy doing skydiving or mountain climbing, or even speaking in front of a group. They not only do those things, but they are totally comfortable doing them. Other people have jobs that come with great responsibility. They lead others into action or they weigh in on big decisions their company might be making. They do everything with skill and ease.
I used to be that kind of guy. I was very comfortable with the work I did in the world and I loved its ups and downs and its challenges. Those things gave me a chance to show what I could do.
Since having a stroke though, I’ve left most of that old work behind and I’m discovering that one of the areas God wants me to be more comfortable with is my faith. He wants me to walk into my faith day, the same way I once walked into my work day. He wants me to trust that with His help I can do anything because He’ll be there through the ups and downs and the challenges.
This is kind of a new thought for me because I’ve never considered whether I was truly comfortable with my faith before. The good news is that I am becoming more relaxed, more comfortable, and more grateful for my faith every day. I realize now that I want to be more comfortable with my faith than I ever was with my job. God is working with me now, helping me to boldly share the stories He has given me. I know He wants the same thing for you. He wants you to relax in His care because that’s where you can be yourself and be truly comfortable. You’re in good hands! Let’s get comfortable with our faith.
You have not seen Christ, but still you love him. You cannot see him now, but you believe in him. So, you are filled with a joy that cannot be explained, a joy full of glory.
