I am an avid sports fan. I enjoy baseball, football, hockey, golf, tennis and basketball. Recently I was watching an NBA game; the announcer was talking about the Philadelphia 76’ers and he used the term the “process”. He used the term to explain that over the last 3 or 4 years the team lost a lot of games, which enabled them to get high draft picks. Those picks in turn enabled them to draft talented players. Those players have provided them with a playoff team for the first time in many years.
As I listened to the announcer I couldn’t help but think that my illness in 2007 was a “process”. A different type of process, but one nonetheless. This was God’s process. My illness was to lead me somewhere. Storms in our life are not always bad. This “process” allowed me to reconnect with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This journey’s map included the illness, the recovery and the transformation. This was all part of His plan.
Proverbs 19:21 ESV
Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.
