Some things in life are big! You lose a job and it’s big because your whole family is affected. Everybody has to tighten their belts and stretch and bend to meet the monthly budgets. You have to start again to find new opportunities. It’s big!
Your marriage falls apart and you wonder how you can pull it back together or how you will manage your life or care for your children if it continues to disintegrate. It simply feels too big for you to handle.
When you have a stroke or some other life-changing illness, it’s big! While you’re working to get through the tedious and repetitious work of getting your fine motor skills to re-connect with your brain cells, it may feel too big for you to handle. In fact, it may feel impossible.
Here’s what I learned though. These kinds of things are definitely too big for you and for me. They weigh on your heart and mind and make you feel defeated. But they are NOT too big for God! They are not too hard for God to handle!
What we have to do then is keep God in the loop. We have to do our best to talk with Him on a regular basis, several times a day even, so that God knows those things that most concern us in this world.
How do you stay close to God? You pray! You pray with gratitude for what you can do. You pray for strength for what you can’t do. You pray for protection over those parts of your life that feel totally out of control.
Is anything too hard for God? Is any problem we can ever have too big for Him to handle in ways that make a positive difference? The answer is “No!” Nothing is too big for God. Put your job, your marriage, your health and anything else that concerns you in God’s hand and He’ll help you until you win the day. You can do it!
‘Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You.
Jeremiah 32:17, NKJV
