Being in God’s Will

Posted · 2 Comments

Do you remember when you first chose to surrender your life to God? You both celebrated the event with great joy. God immediately wrote your name in His book so He could make sure that you would inherit all that He has. He put you in His will.

The good news is that you will always be in His will and nothing can change that. The question is, what will you do now to align your life to His so that you begin to live more fully in His will each day? You surrender. You give up being in control. You understand that as a human being, you cannot make anything happen on your own. You recognize that there is only one safe place to be and that is for you to live inside God’s will. How hard can it be?

When I was recovering from my strokes, I had to surrender to the process. I had to be willing to let others help me. I had to accept every little step as a victory because each step brought me closer to wholeness and health. I imagine that our walk with God is something like that. We have to choose to surrender to the process. We’re not going to become perfect overnight. We’re not going to heal our emotions and our bodies and our spirits without His help. We need to keep taking steps in the right direction as God leads us and count each step as a little victory. We have to understand that the process we’re in will bring us closer to living in His will all the time.

You may wonder how your own healing process will work. You may be uncertain about what steps to take. You only have to choose to surrender to all that God has for you and He will light your path and keep you ever in His will.

Pray that I may be kept safe from the unbelievers in Judea and that the contribution I take to Jerusalem may be favorably received by the Lord’s people there, so that I may come to you with joy, by God’s will, and in your company be refreshed.
Romans 15:31-32, NIV
